Use Case

Laboratory Results

Upload the lab PDF, confirm the values, and finally see what's normal, what's flagged, and what's been drifting.

What Lunas supports

  • Extraction from lab PDFs and photos, confirmed by you
  • LOINC normalization so results from different labs line up
  • Trends charted against reference ranges over time

The opportunity

Why this work needs medical context

A blood panel arrives as a dense PDF: fourteen abbreviations, tiny reference ranges, and one "H" next to a number you've never heard of. The report from last year's physical is in a different portal, in a different format, from a different lab.

Lunas turns that pile into a record. Upload the report, and Stethos extracts each analyte with its value, unit, and range — then shows you the extraction to confirm or correct, because an OCR misread should never silently become your medical history. Confirmed values are matched to LOINC codes, which is what lets a hemoglobin from two different labs land on the same chart.

From there you can ask what a test measures, see whether a value has been stable or sliding across five reports, and share the trend — read-only, time-limited, revocable — with a clinician.

Where Lunas fits

Useful work before the final decision

Stethos helps explain, organize, and investigate. People and qualified professionals stay responsible for the decisions that follow.

01

Read the report

Get every analyte out of the PDF with its value, unit, and range intact.

02

Confirm accuracy

Approve or fix each extracted value before it enters your record.

03

See the trend

Watch a ferritin drift down across three reports instead of judging one snapshot.

04

Ask about a test

Learn what ALT actually measures and what commonly moves it.

A practical workflow

From a question to human review

A repeatable path makes the model easier to supervise and the result easier to trust.

  1. 01

    Upload

Add the lab PDF or a clear photo of the printout.

  2. 02

    Verify

Check each extracted test, value, unit, range, and date.

  3. 03

    Explore

Chart the value against its range and ask Stethos what the test means.

  4. 04

    Discuss

Share the trend with your clinician or bring it to the visit.

Questions

What people usually want to know

Can AI read my lab results?

Yes. Upload the report as a PDF, photo, or CSV and Lunas extracts the tests, values, units, and reference ranges, then asks you to confirm them. Confirmed results are explained in plain language and charted over time, so a single report becomes part of a history rather than an isolated page of abbreviations.

My lab result is flagged high — should I worry?

A flag alone doesn't answer that. Reference ranges vary by lab, and a value's meaning depends on trend, context, and how the sample was taken. Lunas shows you where the value sits against the range and how it has moved over time — then that picture belongs in a conversation with your clinician, who can interpret it properly.

Can I compare results from different labs?

Yes, where they measure the same thing. Lunas normalizes analytes with LOINC codes so comparable tests from different labs chart together, with units and the source report always one click away. Method differences between labs still exist, which is worth mentioning when a professional reviews the trend.
